The Program

The health and wellness concerns of your female clients take center stage in this innovative new program. Whether you are training a young woman, an aging Baby Boomer or an older client, this course is a necessary part of your education to help keep your client strong, healthy and fit both mentally and physically throughout her life.

Separate training modules will address the issues that are most important to the modern woman. You’ll learn about how to keep her metabolism active and how exercise can control, or in some cases even help to prevent, certain diseases. You’ll learn to integrate good eating habits with her exercise routine and you’ll discover specific lifting techniques tailored specifically for a woman’s wider hips and narrower shoulders. If you work with female clients, this program will help you to design and implement programs that will allow your client to reach her fullpotential – at any age!

You can take the entire weekend, or just choose the courses that fit your schedule and interests.

Workshop Listings

Women, Exercise & Metabolism
Saturday - 8:30 am - 10:30 am
You know the pattern: The woman who is so desperate to lose weight that she starves herself while over-exercising but still cannot reach her weight loss goals. This fascinating program will teach you how to use exercise and diet to speed up the woman's basal metabolic rate (BMR) so that she can both achieve and maintain weight loss.

Integrating Diet, Exercise & Behavioral Change
Saturday - 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
This program will teach you step by step how to put it all together! Learn how to merge good eating habits with appropriate exercise strategies to put together a program your clients can live with. You’ll also discover the hidden “land-mines” that can sabotage your client’s results and how friends and family can help –or hinder your client’s attempts to make long-term behavioral changes.

Exercise & Pregnancy
Saturday - 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm
This fast-paced program will teach you the latest ACOG guidelines for your pregnant client. You'll learn modifications appropriate for each trimester of pregnancy as well as exercise modalities for the post-partum and lactating client.

Exercise & Women's Health Concerns
Saturday - 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm
This important class will concentrate on exercise modifications for the health concerns common to women. You’ll learn exercise modalities appropriate for clients who suffer from fibromyla, chronic fatigue syndrome and anemia. You'll also discover the effect of exercise on PMS and menopause. Finally, you'll explore appropriate exercise programs for women who are going through treatment for breast cancer.

Exercise & Osteoporosis
Sunday - 8:30 am - 10:30 am
As Baby Boomer continue to age, the rates of osteoporosis are sure to increase. This timely workshop explores the risk factors for osteoporosis and then gives specific exercise do's and don'ts for the client with osteoporsis who has been cleared to exercise by their doctor. You'll also learn programming guidelines for clients with osteopenia, as well as how to develop a preventative program for at-risk clients.

Exercise & Women's Orthopedic Issues
Sunday - 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
Women have some very specific orthopedic issues that result from pregnancy, poor office ergonomics, high heels, even heavy pocketbooks! This fast-paced course will teach you exercise techniques and core stabilization drills appropriate for the unique postural conditions many women must live with on a daily basis including back troubles, knee pain, even migraines!

Strength Training for Women
Sunday - 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm
"I don't want to get big!" The benefits of strength training for women are well documented, yet we still hear this refrain. This electrifying course will explore how strength training will help your female client to not only look better but also to have better self-esteem. You'll discover how weight lifting can reduce the risk of different types of disease and you'll also learn how to develop a lifting program for teenaged girls -- to establish a foundation of fitness for life!

Hips, Thighs, Abs & Tri's
Sunday - 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm
Men and women are built differently and this innovative course will you how to implement gender-specific training programs to accomodate women's wider hips, narrower shoulders and lower upper body strength. You'll also learn specific exercise techniques for the problem areas many women obsess over: hips, thighs, abs & triceps!
